Custom built vanity unit in complete bathroom renovation

Custom built kitchen cabinetry services. Cherry Mission-Style cabinets with butcher block counter tops. These counter tops have a beautiful tumbled marble tile back splash. The 3 windows were installed which created a perfect space for some open shelving.

This is a complete kitchen renovation with Mission style cabinetry with bead-board panels. The finish is a rag faux-finish. Silestone counter tops and white tile back splash. Also, the floor is a 12' X 12" slate that was installed with the renovation.

Jim Williams remodeled much of the first floor of our townhouse in Decatur—kitchen, dining room, living room—in 2007. Among the large-scale items were: widening doorways; knocking out a load-bearing wall and re-fitting it with an appropriate beam; replacing doors with windows and windows with doors; and installing appliances. The smaller-scale tasks included adding wood trim, reconfiguring the old wood floor planks to meet the new layout; laying tile; fitting new drywall and trim around odd bits of plumbing and ducts; and hanging and finishing the ceilings. All his work was of superior quality, but it was really in those smaller-scale items that his craftsmanship shone. Seriously—we used to gaze at various pieces of his work and just marvel at their precision and perfection.

The photos on this website will attest to Jim’s skills, but what you can’t photograph is what a pleasure he is to work with. He’s a professional in all regards, and an absolute straight shooter. We had no mysteries and no surprises during our remodel. Plus, Jim’s got a great design sense: although in our case he worked from plans drawn up by a kitchen designer, he made excellent suggestions on the aesthetics of the house as he proceeded.

We moved from Decatur in 2009, and the beautifully remodeled first floor contributed to a quick sale and strong price in spite of the rotten housing market. As we contemplate a major remodel in our new home here in Massachusetts, we seriously want to convince Jim to head north to do the job. Seriously. (What’ll it take to get you up here, Jim?)
